مرحبًا بكم في قسم الرياضيات

أحد الركائز الأساسية للتعليم والبحث العلمي في المملكة، والمتميز بحضوره الأكاديمي والبحثي على المستوى العالمي. نكرّس جهودنا في القسم لإعداد طلابنا لمسارات مهنية متنوعة في القطاعات الحكومية والصناعية والتعليمية، إلى جانب الإسهام الفاعل في تطوير المعرفة من خلال أبحاثنا المتقدمة في الرياضيات البحتة والتطبيقية، والرياضيات المالية، وعلوم وهندسة البيانات.

يضم قسم الرياضيات نحو ستين عضوًا من هيئة التدريس من بينهم خبراء معروفون عالميًا، ويغطي طيفًا واسعًا من التخصصات الرياضية. كما يحتضن القسم عددًا من الطلاب في برامج البكالوريوس في الرياضيات والعلوم الاكتوارية وعلوم وهندسة البيانات، إضافة إلى برامج الدراسات العليا التي تشمل الماجستير في علوم البيانات، والماجستير في النمذجة والمحاكاة، والماجستير في الإحصاء التطبيقي، وبرامج الماجستير والدكتوراه في الرياضيات، مما يجعل بيئته الأكاديمية نابضة بالحياة وغنية بالتفاعل العلمي والبحثي.

نحرص على تعزيز التواصل بين الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين الزائرين من خلال المقررات الدراسية، والدورات، وورش العمل، والندوات العلمية، وتبادل الزيارات، حيث تحظى المبادرات البحثية بدعم كبير من جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن، إضافةً إلى مؤسسات التمويل الحكومية والصناعية.

كما يسهم القسم بفاعلية في تدريب وتأهيل الطلاب للمشاركة في المسابقات العلمية العالمية مثل أولمبياد الرياضيات وغيرها من المنافسات الأكاديمية، إيمانًا بأهمية تنمية القدرات التحليلية والإبداعية لطلابنا وإبراز كفاءاتهم على الساحة الدولية.

وعلى مدار العام، يحرص القسم على استضافة علماء رياضيات وباحثين في علوم البيانات من مختلف أنحاء العالم، مما يثري البيئة البحثية ويعزز التعاون المثمر مع أعضاء هيئة التدريس وطلاب الدراسات العليا.

وتُعد خدمة المجتمع التزامًا أساسيًا في رسالتنا، إذ يشارك أعضاء القسم بفاعلية في الجمعيات والمؤسسات العلمية المحلية والدولية، كما يقدم القسم دعمًا أكاديميًا وبحثيًا متميزًا لزملائه في الأقسام الأخرى بالجامعة.

Chairman’s Message

Welcome to the Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics stands as one of the cornerstones of education and scientific research in the Kingdom, distinguished by its global academic and research presence.

We dedicate our efforts to preparing students for diverse career paths across government, industry, and education, while actively contributing to the advancement of knowledge through our cutting-edge research in pure and applied mathematics, financial mathematics, and data science and engineering.

The department comprises nearly sixty faculty members, including internationally recognized scholars, covering a broad spectrum of mathematical disciplines. We offer undergraduate programs in Mathematics and Actuarial Science and Data Science and Engineering, alongside graduate programs leading to the M.S. in Data Science, M.S. in Modeling and Simulation, M.S. in Applied Statistics, M.S. in Mathematics and the Ph.D. in Mathematics. Together, these programs create a vibrant and dynamic academic and research environment.

We foster strong interaction between students, faculty, and visiting scholars through courses, workshops, seminars, and collaborative research visits. Our research initiatives enjoy strong support from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), as well as governmental and industrial funding bodies.

The department also plays an active role in training and mentoring students to participate in international competitions, such as the Mathematical Olympiad, reflecting our commitment to nurturing analytical thinking, creativity, and excellence among our students.

Throughout the year, the department hosts distinguished mathematicians and data scientists from around the world, creating a rich environment for collaboration and scholarly exchange among faculty members and graduate students.

Community engagement is a core commitment of our department. Our faculty members actively contribute to national and international professional societies and provide strong academic and research support to colleagues across the university.
