Degree Requirements

Requirements to complete the M.S. in Applied Statistics program

To complete the M.S. program in Applied Statistics, a candidate must fulfill the following requirements:

Complete Course Credits
Complete a minimum of 24 Credit Hours within the following limitations:
At least 18 credit hours must be in Statistics, including the three core courses below
A maximum of 6 credit hours at the 400 level can be counted
STAT 501 STAT 502 STAT 510

Pass Seminar Course
Take the seminar course STAT 599 under the guidelines provided by the graduate bulletin.

Prepare and Defend Thesis
Prepare a thesis (STAT 610) on a subject of his/her choice according to the general procedures of the Deanship of Graduate Studies. The thesis work counts as 6 semester-credit-hours, bringing the total to 30.
Important Note

The student must seek the approval of the academic advisor (in consultation with the thesis advisor) for any course she/he registers.
